Toddlers are encouraged to explore their environment and develop independence.
Toddlers are at an age of exploration, so we foster an environment where they can safely investigate and manipulate objects. They are beginning to understand the world around them, including both things and actions.
Caregivers support language development by expanding on the child’s simple sentences. For instance, if a child says, “Outside,” the caregiver might respond, “You want to go outside to play?”
Children are given numerous opportunities to explore and grow their language skills at this stage.
Age: 12-15 to 30 months
Our toddlers’ program includes but is not limited to:
- Providing a variety of picture books for group or one-on-one reading is essential.
- Singing songs and performing fingerplays at a more advanced level encourages interaction.
- Toddlers begin to socialize more, engaging in play with other children.
- Activities like Simon Says and Ring-Around-the-Rosy are also incorporated.
